Composite Technology: Mechanized

EDO offers the aerospace industry a premier capability in the design, analysis and fabrication of advanced composite structures. This capability arises from a dedicated, experienced staff of composite specialists using the very latest design and analysis tools. EDO’s composite development team consists of personnel with a diversity of backgrounds derived from military and commercial programs such as the B757, B767, B777, A300, A310, A340, C-17, F-14, F-15, E-2C, A-6E, A-6F, X-32 and the X-45. Components and structural subsystems developed for these programs include wings, tails, control surfaces, doors, cowlings and nacelles. The team is also well versed in state-of-the-art advanced technology composites featuring High Strain, Post Buckled, Mini-Sandwich and Hybrid Structures.

EDO’s design and analysis capability is centered on PRO-E® and CATIA® workstations that interface with numerous composite specific software modules. These provide the capability to efficiently perform analysis disciplines such as Finite Element Analysis, Design Analysis Lay-Up, Kinematic Analysis and Classical Composite Analysis Codes.
