- Panama City Operations -
EDO’s history in naval mine countermeasure, started as a preeminent
supplier of the MK-105 helicopter towed minesweeping system, first developed in the 1960s.
In August of 2006, EDO's Panama City Operations (PCO) Bluewater facility was officially
opened for business, further establishing EDO’s commitment to providing premier
mine warfare systems and capabilities in direct support to their customer, the U.S. Naval
Surface Warfare Center in Panama City.
The +52,000 square feet facility provides full scale system design and
integration, platform installation and integration support, system training and depot
maintenance, and spare parts, maintenance and repair planning for a wide range of mine
countermeasure systems. PCO is a full service organization that takes concept to manufacture
of hardware onto supporting the hardware in the field throughout its life cycle. Product
lines include:
Mine Sweep Systems:
A/N37U-1
- The A/N37U-1 is a mechanical minesweeping system which provides lightweight clip-on
technology and is airborne and surface capable. This cutting edge technology provides
depth variability, increased sweep width and depth ability, with improved availability
and reliability. (view

AN/ALQ-220
Organic Airborne & Surface Influence Sweep - OASIS
- OASIS provides rapid coverage mine clearance capability required to sweep influence
mines. OASIS provides high-speed influence sweeping capability by generating and imparting
underwater magnetic and acoustic signature fields capable of sweeping a wide range of
magnetic, acoustic, and combination magnetic/acoustic influence treat mines at tactically
significant water depths. (view

AN/ALQ-219
Shallow-Water Influence Mine Sweep System - SWIMS - SWIMS
was developed in response to a U.S. Navy requirement for a small, high speed, dual-influence
(magnetic and acoustic) mine sweep system. SWIMS is an unmanned vehicle that can be
either airborne or surface towed and is especially effective in sweeping littoral waters,
including brackish and riverine environments. (view
