EDO TSO flight test support experience includes:

• Supporting over 370 test flights, including more than 2,600 flight hours.

Our engineering and programming capabilities enabled us to develop proprietary applications and special test equipment to automate flight test tasks, speed delivery of test results, and reduce testing costs.
For example, the EDO TSO Data Analysis System (DAS) performs automated data reduction, data analysis, results scoring, and reporting. The DAS drastically reduces the man-hours and cost required to deliver accurate test results to the customer in a timely manner.

Another example is the use of the EDO TSO AN/ALM-280 Enhanced Automated Special Test Equipment (EASTE). The EASTE can be used to automate end-to-end, subsystem, pre flight, and post flight-testing of Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) systems-under-test (SUT).

Our flight test preparation includes developing and running dynamic pre-test mission scenarios in EW laboratories. The dynamic scenarios include emulating flight paths, generating the expected RF environment threat signals, and observing the SUT responses. All dynamic scenario inputs and SUT responses are recorded and analyzed to help detect possible SUT problems before actually performing the flight test.

Radio Frequency (RF)/Microwave Anechoic Chamber Testing Support
EDO TSO is a one-stop source to support your Electronic Warfare and microwave anechoic chamber testing. We have experience in operating large, medium, and small EW/microwave anechoic chambers. Our engineering staff has hands-on anechoic chamber expertise in:

• Writing custom test plans and procedures
• Managing and conducting tests
• Performing test result data reduction and analysis
• Interim and final test results report generation
• Modifying anechoic chamber facilities to meet test requirements
• Setup and use of general purpose test equipment (GPTE), special test equipment (STE), and automatic test equipment (ATE) to conduct tests
• Writing special applications that automatically control test equipment, run tests, and collect data
• RF/microwave anechoic chamber consulting

EDO TSO recently installed a small onsite anechoic chamber (20ft. long X 10 ft. deep X 10 ft. high with a 2-18GHz RF coverage range) at our Lancaster, CA facility. The anechoic chamber is currently used to test EDO TSO products.

The anechoic chamber is available for short or long term rental. Clients can use their own personnel and test equipment to run tests. EDO TSO will outsource RF test engineers, technicians, computers, and/or test equipment to augment a client’s assets as needed. Or for one cost-effective price, a client can have EDO TSO perform the testing and return the test results quickly.

EW Range Support
EDO TSO provides onsite Electronic Warfare test range engineering, planning, consulting, and test monitoring services to the US Air Force and Navy. Our engineers and test planners identify the

• Test assets required to perform the range test
• SUT, simulator, and real threat modes of operation that will be used during the test
• Optimal flight paths to be flown by the test aircraft
• Data format and collection requirements needed to accurately report the test results

Our EW engineers and consultants often provide detailed run-by-run briefings to threat system operators, aircrews, and mission control personnel to ensure that they understand the tests to be accomplished and the actions they must take for maximum test efficiency and effectiveness. 

Edwards Air Force Base (EAFB) Engineering and Technical Support Services
EDO TSO provides flight test and EW support services at EAFB, to US Air Force organizations and government contractors. We are local to the EAFB area, our staff incurs no travel or subsistence costs. We also have a large staff stationed at EAFB performing flight test support.

Our EAFB staff has extensive:

• Expertise in mission planning
• Knowledge of Electronic Warfare and radar systems
• Experience in writing EW flight test requirements, plans, procedures, reports, and other test documentation

Threat Simulation Validation Services
EDO TSO has provided Threat Simulation Validation Support for the U.S. Navy at China Lake Naval Air Weapons Center (NAWC) since 1996. Their services include:

• Writing detailed threat representation validation reports
• Analyzing simulator capabilities and comparing actual threat/emitter parameters
• Collecting and storing threat/emitter data
• Performing impact analysis by comparing expected threat/emitter parameter data against actual test data
