Referral Guidelines

1. Referral Eligibility: All EDO employees, except director levels and above, Human Resources personnel, and managers with hiring authority over the referred candidates are eligible to refer candidates.

2. The referral date cannot be earlier than the date the job requisition is posted. The hiring of a referred employee must occur within 180 days (six months) of the initial referral date.

3. The referral must represent the candidate's first contact with EDO. Temporary, summer, contract and former employees of EDO are not eligible candidates for referral awards.

4. To be eligible for an award, the referrals must first be submitted to Human Resources and must include a Candidate Referral Form and a resume or employment application.

5. The referring employee must agree to have his/her name used for introduction.

6. The first employee to refer a candidate will be the only referring employee eligible for payment.

7. Only candidates who meet the essential qualifications for the position will be considered.

8. All candidates will be evaluated for employment consistent with EDO policies and procedures.

9. All information regarding the hiring decision will remain strictly confidential.

10. Most referral bonus payments will be paid as follows: 50% on or shortly following the candidate’s 90 days of employment, and the remaining 50% after 6 months.

11. The referring employee must be an active EDO employee at the time the referral awards become payable.

12. Any disputes or interpretations of the program will be handled through Human Resources.
