INCAN - Interference Cancellation Technology

EDO's Interference Cancellation Technology is used to remove interference from both collocated and remote sources. Operation in dense electromagnetic environments can degrade the effectiveness of radios and other electronic systems. Interference Cancellation Systems (ICS) restore full operational capability for all types of waveforms from both friendly and intentional sources of interference.

EDO is developing the Interference Cancellation Subsystem (INCAN) for the CV-22 Osprey Tiltrotor Aircraft. Interference between on board radios is mitigated by the INCAN to allow unimpeded communications under all conditions. The CV-22 will fulfill the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) requirements for a long range insertion and extraction of SOF teams.

GUARDRAIL
EDO's 20-channel Interference Cancellation System is deployed in 27 U.S. Army RC-12K Guardrail aircraft. Interference caused by transmitters on the aircraft is eliminated from multiple sensor receivers. End-to-end BIT is incorporated, which fault locates to ten, front panel replaceable modules. This highly successful system has just completed the design phase of an ICS performance upgrade.

RIVET JOINT SATCOM ANTIJAM
Collection receivers on the U.S. Air Force fleet of Rivet Joint Aircraft have been protected from interference by EDO's Interference Cancellation Systems for over 20 years. We are currently developing an advanced design ICS to protect the SATCOM receivers from remote interference.

ERGM MISSILE GPS ANTIJAM
We have developed state-of-the-art devices to protect GPS receivers operating in hostile environments. Our GPS Antijam Module is being used in the U.S. Navy's Precision Guided Munitions, the Extended Range Guided Munitions (ERGM) missile currently under development by Raytheon Systems Company. The miniature Antijam Module is being productized to withstand the severe environment of gun launched missiles.
