EDO WINS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACTS EXCEEDING $31 MILLION
NEW YORK - July 8, 2005 - EDO Corporation (NYSE: EDO) has been awarded two competitively-procured contracts totaling $31.7 million. Both contracts were awarded in June.
The first contract is for professional and engineering services that support the Naval Air Systems Command Propulsion and Power Systems Division, primarily at the Patuxent River complex. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract has a five-year ceiling amount of $24.5 million. It expands test facility operations and engineering services that the company has been providing to Naval Aviation since 1988, including the definition of technical requirements, performance monitoring, and propulsion system evaluation and integration.
Additionally, EDO was awarded a three-year, $7.2 million contract from the Program Management Office Defense Travel System. For more than nine years, the company has been providing information-technology support related to Internet-based travel services, as well as program management and administration.
"The key to both of these competitive wins has been our record of excellent customer service," said James M. Smith, EDO's chief executive officer. "While based on solid technical and engineering skills, it is our spirit of service and pride in performance that give us the edge in very competitive markets. It is clear that each EDO professional is earning the customer respect needed to continue to expand these contracts."
EDO Corporation designs and manufactures a diverse range of products for the defense industry and commercial markets, and provides related engineering and professional services.
EDO (www.edocorp.com) was founded in 1925 and is headquartered in New York City. The company employs 2,700 people and had revenues of $536 million in 2004.
